Beaumont Crash Results in Death of US Navy Serviceman

A US Navy Serviceman ID’d as Jaquane Carter, 30, was killed in a big rig crash on Friday afternoon.

Carter, from Burgaw, North Carolina, was traveling westbound in a Kia Sportage at the time of the accident.

Carter reportedly failed to stop for traffic around 12:40 p.m. on April 1st.

As a result, his vehicle rear-ended a 2019 Freightliner towing a 53-foot-semi-trailer.

Unfortunately, the US Navy Serviceman died at the scene of the accident.

Police shut down traffic on the roadway for a period of time following the wreck.

The crash remains under investigation.
