Bicyclist Injured Following Fair Oaks Hit-and-Run Crash
A bicyclist was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Greenback Lane near a Fair Oaks cajun restaurant.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Friday morning. Officers reported the incident at about 7:04 a.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in Fair Oaks. The driver hit the cyclist near Fair Oaks Boulevard.
Emergency crew along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene in front of the Asian n Cajun 2 restaurant. They found the victim left wounded as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the crash. Officials did not disclose the name of the bicyclist and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, the CHP group affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the bicycle rider and fled the area. They are still searching for the suspect.
Authorities closed a portion of Greenback Lane near the business to shut down following the hit-and-run collision. The cause of the Fair Oaks accident is still being investigated.
