One Killed & One Injured in Highway 119 Collision
19-year-old Christina Collins was left with moderate injuries on Monday morning after being involved in a two-vehicle collision.
According to reports, the accident occurred just minutes before 7:30 a.m. in Bakersfield.
Collins was the passenger in a Ford pickup truck that was traveling south on Buena Vista Road.
The driver of the Ford stopped at the intersection, then proceeded to make a turn when it was struck by a Peterbilt truck.
Unfortunately, the driver of the pickup died at the scene.
No reports were made regarding the driver of the Peterbilt truck.
An active investigation remains underway.

- Call 911 if there are any injuries
- Get vehicle to safety if it is moveable, if it is not, put on hazards
- Exchange information with others involved and document everything
- Call 911 to report accident – they determine who was at fault
