Woman ID’d in Fatal Modesto Traffic Accident

An elderly woman was killed in a traffic accident last Friday in Modesto, California.

The fatal collision took place on July 22nd around 10:15  p.m. at the Modesto and Ceres border.

A southbound vehicle ran through a red light at the intersection of Morgan Road and Whitmore Avenue, thus colliding with a Ford Explorer.

The collision resulted in the vehicles crashing into two more vehicles.

Avina Loreto, 80, was the rear passenger of the Ford who sadly suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

There were also three other occupants of the Ford who sustained minor to moderate injuries. All were treated at hospitals.

In addition, the driver of the car that ran the red light was also treated for moderate injuries and later arrested on DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
