Rollover Accident on State Route Highway 4
Two vehicles collided Tuesday afternoon in Antioch, resulting in a rollover.
The accident took place at 1:14 p.m. on February 22nd near Auto Center Drive.
CHP reported that the crash involved a red sedan and SUV. It is unclear at this time what caused the collision.
Upon impact, the sedan rolled over on its side on the right shoulder then collided with a Chevrolet Equinox.
As a result, the vehicles blocked the eastbound lanes of Highway 4.
Two children also sustained minor injuries and were taken to Kaiser Antioch for treatment.
Investigators are actively working to determine liability.
Statistics show that rollover accidents account for about one-third of all fatalities in the U.S. In addition, 30% of vehicle fatalities are rollover crashes. These types of accidents are far more likely to result in a fatality than non-rollover crashes.
