Rider Killed, Anthony Pacheco lll Arrested After Fatal Oxnard DUI Accident on Highway 101

Anthony Pacheco lll, 31, was arrested following a hit-and-run DUI collision that claimed a rider’s life on Sunday night in Oxnard, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The deadly crash happened a while before 10:00 p.m. on November 7, on Highway 101 near Rice Avenue.

Per the dispatch, Pacheco was driving a Honda Civic at a high rate speed when he rear-ended a motorcycle.

Responding emergency crews and medical personnel found the motorcyclist lying unconscious on the roadway. Efforts to resuscitate the victim bore no fruit, and they were pronounced dead at the crash site. The deceased name was not immediately released, awaiting notification of the family.

Authorities said Pacheco did not stay at the accident location after the accident. Police searched for him, and he was found at a Camarillo residence. He was arrested for felony hit-and-run, murder, and felony DUI.

The incident remains under investigation.
