Man Killed in Encinitas Motorcycle Collision on Highway 101

63-year-old Anthony Avila, of Oceanside, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Thursday afternoon. 

The incident occurred in Encinitas on Highway 101 near Grandview Street. 

It was around 4 p.m. on March 17th when the fatal crash happened.

Per reports, Avila’s motorcycle was making a left turn as he was passing a vehicle. As a result, his bike collided with an SUV.

The impact caused the motorcycle to crash into a parked vehicle.

Sadly, Avila died at the scene of the wreck.

Investigators are still working to piece together all the details of the accident.

According to statistics, approximately 80% of accidents involving a motorcycle result in injuries or death.
