Angelica Rubio and Nataly Diaz ID’d After Fatal Crash

A Nevada coroner has ID’d both victims of a deadly collision that took place on Monday morning.

The crash was reported just before 7 a.m. on the northbound I-15 freeway near Jean on August 30th.

For reasons unknown, a Honda Accord driven by Angelica Rubio failed to slow down and hit a semi truck as a result.

Rubio, 30, suffered blunt injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nataly Diaz, 15, was the passenger in the Accord and was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition. Diaz unfortunately did not make it and died at the hospital.

In addition, Diaz suffered a blunt head injury which was the cause of her death.

The driver of the semi truck, however, did not sustain any injuries.

All lanes were reopened around 11:45 a.m. following clean up and investigation.

In the U.S. one’s odds of dying in a car accident is around 1 in 107.
