Deadly Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on 101 Freeway

52-year-old Andrea Ortega was hit and killed by a vehicle in Sherman Oaks on Thursday morning. 

The incident took place on March 31st at 4:16 a.m. 

Per reports, Ortega was struck on the southbound Ventura (101) Freeway at the San Diego (405) Freeway exchange.

Ortega was found in the roadway with serious injuries and sadly died at the scene.

It was also reported that the involved driver fled the scene. No descriptions on the suspect’s vehicle have been made public at this time. 

An active investigation is underway and those with information are urged to contact CHP.
