Alexis Ramirez Arrested Following DUI Collision in Merced, CA

An arrest was made of Alexis Ramirez on Tuesday morning, July 27th. She was a drunk driver involved in a crash that occurred early Tuesday morning. The crash happened at about 1:19 a.m. on the southbound lanes just north of Collier Road. 

CHP reports state that a 25-year-old man was pulled over on the right shoulder, driving a 2021 Dodge Ram attached to a trailer. 

When the driver exited the vehicle, Ramirez, driving a 2006 Honda Accord, rear-ended the trailer. The impact of the collision caused the trailer to push forward, resulting in the 25-year-old man stuck between the truck and trailer. 

Ramirez fled the scene, possessing moderate injuries and was later arrested in a grass field. 

The victim is in critical condition after being transported to Memorial Medical Center. 

Ramirez was booked into jail and charged with suspicion of felony DUI felony causing bodily injury as well as hit-and-run. 

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver.
