Alejandro Espinoza Ruiz Died Following ATV Crash in Oceano

Alejandro Espinoza Ruiz, a 32-year-old man, died following an ATV crash that occurred Saturday afternoon near the area of Sand Highway 22.

The KSBY News reported a recreational off-highway vehicle (ROV) rolled over several times near the dunes vent pipe area, also known as Sand Highway 22. According to the article published online, the ATV plunged about 20 feet down at the Oceano Dunes.

Shortly after 12:20 p.m., California State Park rangers arrived at the crash site. Rescue teams found as many as three people involved in the incident.

Authorities later confirmed one person sadly died at the scene. The fatal victim has been identified as Alejandro Espinoza Ruiz, of Santa Maria.

Per local news source, two other parties suffered injuries from the collision. Paramedics airlifted one patient to Marian Regional Medical Center; while a ground ambulance transported the other patient to the same hospital.

Investigators continue to work at this time to determine the exact cause of the fatal ATV crash on Sand Highway 22 at Oceano Dunes.
