Alamo Crash Interstate 680 Freeway, Stone Valley Rd

A multi-vehicle crash in Alamo on the Interstate 680 Freeway happened Thursday morning, just north of the Stone Valley Road on ramp.

The 3-vehicle collision occurred on the southbound I-680 about 5:40 a.m. on Dec. 15th in Contra Costa County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the drivers of a Volkswagen Jetta, a white Dodge Ram pickup truck and a third vehicle are involved. The driver from the Dodge called 911 to report the crash. The motorist told dispatch operators that one of the other vehicles crossed over traffic lanes and crashed into the Dodge. Next, the Dodge collided with the other vehicle.

Paramedics with the San Ramone Valley Fire Department responded to help those injured including the driver of the Dodge who was reportedly trapped in the vehicle and suffering from extreme back pain, the report said.

Tow trucks removed all three vehicles from the roadway due to damage from the crash.

Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the collision.
