Adam Milavetz, 38, Arrested for DUI Crash

Adam Milavetz was detained following a deadly DUI collision that took place on Pershing Drive in Balboa Park. According to authorities, the 38-year-old man was under the influence of drugs when the crash took place.

The wreck began when Adam Milavetz was driving a 2011 Prius north. At the same time, Laura Shinn was riding a bicycle in the same direction. Reports said Adam Milavetz veered into the bike lane and struck the 57-year-old woman from behind.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found Laura Shinn unresponsive on the ground. Emergency personnel rushed the woman to a nearby hospital for further treatment of serious injuries. Ultimately, the victim succumbed to her injuries and died at the hospital.

Meanwhile, police arrested Adam Milavetz on suspicion of charges including murder, gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI. The Balboa Park DUI crash is still under investigation.
