Woman Hit & Killed by Vehicle in Fresno
A 76-year-old woman ID’d as Abelina Ortiz-De Garcia was struck by a vehicle in Fresno on Wednesday morning.
The accident sadly resulted in her death on April 27th, around 7:45 a.m.
De Garcia was struck by a westbound vehicle as she was crossing on McKinley Avenue.
According to police, the driver dragged the woman behind the car after she was hit. It also took place outside of a marked crosswalk.
The involved driver stayed at the scene and was fully cooperative with authorities.
Investigators also shut down the roadway for a period of time as they worked at the scene.
Neither drugs or alcohol were considered a factor in the crash.
