Fatality Reported Following Garden Grove Accident 

George Wahb, 26, was arrested on hit-and-run charges after hitting and killing a male pedestrian Thursday. 

The tragic accident occurred on August 11th just minutes after 12 p.m. in Garden Grove. 

Wahb was driving a Subaru Impreza when he struck the 77-year-old and fled the scene. 

The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. 

Wahb was later located and arrested. He was booked into Orange County Jail with felony hit-and-run charges.

According to statistics, 20% of pedestrian fatalities include fleeing drivers. In addition, 68% of those killed in hit-and-run crashes are pedestrians and bicyclists. 

There was also a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.

In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.
