Pileup of 7 Cars In Pismo Beach

One person sustained injuries following a 7-car pileup on Highway 101 on Thursday morning. 

The traffic accident occurred around 7:25 a.m. on the northbound side of the road near the 4th street exit. 

It was reported that a total of seven vehicles collided due to unknown reasons. 

The injuries were moderate and the current condition as well as their name has yet to be disclosed. 

As a result of the collision the northbound lanes of Highway 101 were shut down for about three hours. 

Investigators are actively working to determine liability. 

Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.
