State Route 60 Traffic Accident Involving Multiple Vehicles
Investigators are actively working to determine fault for a 5-vehicle collision that occurred on Thursday morning.
The traffic accident took place in Diamond Bar on December 16th, just before 5 in the morning.
Five vehicles, including a Dodge Charger, collided in the eastbound lanes of State Route 60 for reasons unknown.
Due to the impact, an oil spill covered three of the middle traffic lanes.
Tow trucks were needed to remove at least two of the involved vehicles. CHP also requested a sweeper truck to cleanup the oil spill.
Additionally, authorities issued a SigAlert because of the blocked lanes following the collision.
Per reports, as of now only one person reported minor injuries.
Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.
When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
