Four vehicles collided on Thursday afternoon leaving 3 people hospitalized in El Monte, CA.
The multi-vehicle crash took place at 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Santa Anita Avenue.
It is unclear what led to the collision, however, one person became trapped inside of a vehicle upon impact.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and extricated the person from the vehicle.
Additionally, three people were transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
There were also six other people involved who were left uninjured.
Investigators are actively working to determine liability.
Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.
When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
