Mendota Man Dies in Big Rig Crash on 5 Freeway 

Three vehicles were involved in a traffic collision on Thursday afternoon in Fresno County. 

Per CHP, the wreck took place around noon on August 4th. 

A Hyundai entered the intersection after stopping at the stop sign on the northbound off-ramp of the 5 Freeway. 

A big rig then hit a westbound Honda on Nees Avenue for unknown reasons, causing the Honda to hit the Hyundai. 

Upon impact, the Honda veered off the roadway and flipped down an embankment. 

Sadly, the driver of the Honda, a 38-year-old man from Mendota, died at the scene. 

The crash remains under investigation.
