Deadly Pedestrian Accident Reported on Highway 18
A 34-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian crash on Thursday, September 8th in Victorville.
The Victorville Daily Press reported that the accident took place just before 2:30 in the morning on Highway 18.
It was at Stoddard Wells Road where a Nissan Altima struck the man in the No. 1 lane of the Highway.
He was rushed to the hospital with major injuries where he sadly died.
The involved driver stated at the scene and was fully cooperative with authorities.
An active investigation remains underway.
There was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.
In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.

- Obey traffic laws & signals
- Always use crosswalk
