Major Injuries Sustained in Car Crash at Elkhorn Boulevard and 34th Street
A multi-vehicle collision resulted in one person seriously injured on Tuesday afternoon in North Highlands.
Per CHP, the traffic accident took place at the intersection of Elkhorn Boulevard and 34th Street around 2:08 p.m.
The vehicles involved were a Toyota, SUV and third unidentified vehicle.
As a result of the impact, both the Toyota and SUV suffered major front-end damage.
One of the involved parties was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The intersection was also closed down for a period of time.
Investigators are actively working to determine liability.
Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.
