3 Car Crash Kills Rudy Ramos And 10 Year Old Girl

Two San Angelo residents, including a 10-year-old child, died following a three-vehicle crash that occurred near Grape Creek during the morning of Oct. 31, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Information provided by TxDPS stated that the collision occurred at approximately 5:58 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 87 and March Road, located in Tom Green County. The weather conditions were clear, and the road was dry.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a Chevrolet SUV and a Toyota pickup were traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 87 and approaching the intersection of March Road. The collision occurred when the driver of a Ford pickup traveling westbound on March Road and approaching U.S. Highway 87 “disregarded the stop sign and entered U.S. 87.”

TxDPS said that the Ford pickup struck the passenger side of the Toyota pickup and the SUV struck the driver’s side of the Ford as a result.

Two occupants of the SUV died. TxDPS identified one as 41-year-old Rudy Ramos of San Angelo. The other, a 10-year-old girl of San Angelo, was not named by TxDPS.

30-year-old Annie Marie Puga, a 9-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy — all of whom were also occupying the SUV and from San Angelo — were transported to Shannon Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the Ford pickup and the driver of the Toyota pickup had no injuries reported.

A Concho Valley Homepage representative at the scene of the incident observed that the highway’s northbound lane was closed for several hours as a result of the crash and that the vehicles involved were severely damaged. The representative also observed that it appeared as though one of the involved vehicles had been knocked “several hundred yards from the point of impact into the median.”
