2 Injuries Reported After DUI Hit-and-Run Crash in Spring Valley

Two people sustained injuries following a suspected DUI car crash in Spring Valley, near Jamacha Road and Kempton Street.

According to news reports, a 21-year-old man was driving a 1998 Mitsubishi Montero traveling eastbound on Jamacha Road. Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi struck the rear of a GMC Sierra as it entered the intersection at Kempton Street.

Reports stated that the 73-year-old driver of the GMC suffered various injuries as a result of the incident. After the wreck, the Mitsubishi driver fled the scene.

Authorities suspect the vehicle hit a second car as it ran a red light at State Route 125. Reports mentioned that the Mitsubishi flipped over, causing injuries to the driver. Investigators later determined the suspect was drunk at the time of the accidents. The man was charged with felony DUI and hit-and-run charges.
