2 injured in Head-On Collision in Victorville, CA

Both a man and a woman were hospitalized after a head-on collision that took place on Sunday night on Amargosa Road in Victorville, CA.

The accident occurred at about 9:55 p.m. just south of La Mesa Road near the entrance to the AAA shopping center.

A blue Hyundai Accent driven by a 24-year-old woman and a red 2014 VW Volkswagen Jetta sedan driven by a 35-year-old man were involved in the crash.

The wreck left the female driver trapped and in need of extrication.

Victorville firefighters responded to the scene and freed the driver.

The man driving the Volkswagen was airlifted to a trauma center with critical injuries.

The female driver was taken by ground ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

Authorities closed Amargosa Road in both directions as they investigated.
