1 Injured in Car Accident on Highway 99 in Yuba City

One person was seriously injured in a head-on collision that happened in Yuba City on Monday morning.

The accident was reported at around 12:53 a.m. on Highway 99 near Live Oak Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A pickup truck is reported to have collided head-on with a semi-truck in unclear circumstances.

Officials say at least one person was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
