1 Hurt After Santa Maria Crash on Highway 101 Near Palmer Road

According to the California Highway Patrol, a suspected hit-and-run car accident took place on Route 101 Sunday evening.

Reports stated that two vehicles collided in the northbound side of the highway near Palmer Road. After arriving at the scene, officials identified the cars involved in the wreck as a red Honda sedan and a silver Chevrolet SUV.

As a result of the crash, one of the vehicles veered off the roadway. Both cars sustained major damaged, and two tow trucks were called to clear the scene. At around 7:20 p.m., emergency personnel arrived and began rendering aid to all possible victims. Authorities confirmed that at least one person sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, a third vehicle that was possibly involved fled the scene before the police arrived. Investigators are looking into the hit-and-run crash to determine fault.
